Mencap

Mencap was established in Northern Ireland in 1965 and, each year, they support thousands of people with a learning disability to live their lives the way they choose. They work in partnership with people with a learning disability in Northern Ireland to fight to change laws and improve services and access to education, employment and leisure facilities.

As part of the Elevate programme, the organisation developed the Treat Me Well campaign to reduce health inequalities by enabling people with a learning disability  to get reasonable adjustments in hospitals/other healthcare settings, based on learning from workshop delivery during 2019-20 and the need for additional information as a result of Covid-19.
