Castlewellan Traders & Residents Association was founded in 2019 and started off with providing Christmas illuminations in the area for the benefit of the community. The Association works for the benefit of all groups including youth and elderly and provides community activities and events. The group works with statutory agencies to address problems and resolve issues in the community.
Under the auspices of the Elevate programme, the Association gained support to plan for Christmas activity in the town to encourage engagement and community cohesion.
