Short Brothers Football Club (Youth)

Short Brothers Football Club was formed in the 1930s. The Junior section of the club was set up 25 years ago to address the need for the youth in the community, regardless of background, ethnicity, religion or sex, to be involved in sport. The Club emphasises enjoyment and fun, praising and reinforcing effort and improvement and respects the rights, dignity and worth of all, treating everyone as an equal.

Mentor: Women'sTec

The Club availed of support from the Elevate programme to develop and expand its reach to young people in the local area, using their sports activities and facilities to tackle health inequalities that exist locally.  After engaging with the local community and undertaking health inequalities training, they developed the content of the teaching and education programme around drug and alcohol misuse.
